Our journey:

dreams to

reality

PART 1

How it all started.

Hey there! I’m Leo, the kid behind onionkid, and I’m so excited to share these amazing crispy shallots with you.

I started this journey because I couldn't stand the thought of people in the US missing out on the authentic, mouth-watering taste of Indonesian crispy shallots.

Growing up in Indonesia, these flavor-packed little nuggets were a staple in every meal. However, when I moved to the US, I couldn't find anything that matched the quality and taste I was used to.

For the longest time, I tried to make do with the bland shallots available here, but it just wasn't the same.

PART 2

The a-ha moment.

One day, my wife's BFF in Hong Kong sent her a care package filled with the most delicious crispy shallots from Indonesia, and it was like a lightbulb went off in my head.

I was so obsessed with these shallots, I begged my wife to help me track down where they came from. And let me tell you, it was like finding a needle in a shallot-stack.

But we finally found the source - a shallot queen by the name of Sianna, living in Cirebon, Indonesia. I knew these crispy delights needed to be shared with the world, so I teamed up with her to make it happen.

PART 3

Our promises.

We swear off the use of sugar, preservatives, and flour, and only fry our shallots once per batch to ensure maximum freshness. That means not only are our shallots finger-licking good, but also a healthier and safer choice for those with dietary restrictions.

And let's not forget, our crispy shallots are the perfect addition to any dish, adding depth and flavor to your meals.

So, if you're looking to elevate your culinary game, give onionkid's authentic crispy shallots a try!

Where we at.

We're all about keeping things small and personal. That's why we currently only sell our crispy shallots in small batches- it allows us to truly understand the ecosystem and make sure our shallots are always of the highest quality.

If you're lucky enough to be in LA, you might spot us at various pop-ups and other local events, so keep an eye out!
